Why Adopt

Adopt a polar bear: The Svalbard polar bears

Polar Bear Family

Species: Polar bear

About the Svalbard polar bears: The polar bears are a group of male and female bears aged between 5 and 12 years old. They live in the Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic, which belongs to Norway. Svalbard is made up of three larger islands and numerous smaller islands and approximately 60% of the archipelago is covered in glacial ice.

About polar bears: Polar bears are found in the Arctic landscapes of Greenland, Canada, Norway, Alaska and Russia. Recent research has shown that more than a quarter of polar bear populations are in decline and if the current global warming trends continue as they are, polar bears may become extinct within 100 years from now.

From just £3.00 a month you can adopt the Svalbard polar bears, helping the WWF to safeguard the future of wild polar bears, and contributing towards tackling some of the largest conservation challenges that we are faced with today. Sponsor a polar bear today and make a difference.
